Leanne Hodgetts from Croome Cuisine was the speaker at our July’s meeting. She explained how the business evolved, how they created their cheeses and their hopes for the future. She brought samples of their various cheeses for us to try and buy. We were spoilt for choice with flavours including Worcester Sauce & Shallots, Rhubarb & Ginger amongst many. We all took up the offer of tasting and enjoyed some wonderful cheeses. After and a break for refreshments, it was down to business. Reports received on recent trips and reminders about our forthcoming summer events, including Coffee Morning, Lunch Club, Snowshill Lavender Fields, Kemerton Lake Walk and the cruise
Well yes, the girls did go to London to see The Girls. This was a musical based on the story of the Calendar Girls. So early on Thursday 29 June, Cynthia, Sarah, Jenny & I took the train to London. Arriving in plenty of time, we had a wander round Leicester Square and had a look in the M&M Store as well as the Lego Store, followed by a more cultural ponder around Foyles Book Shop. Then off to see the show. Very good production, good music and entertaining, well worth the visit. After the show, we had time to enjoy a 3 course meal plus cocktails around Covent Garden before catching the train home.
Pictures below - sorry but the one in the theatre is a little dark! |
