In June we welcomed Michael and Elizabeth Amies to talk about their work in raising awareness for organ donation. It was very moving to hear about the decision they made following the death of their daughter who had joined the organ donation register in her teens and then channeling their grief into positive outcomes for many others. Michael became chair of the Organ Donation Committee for Worcestershire Acute Hospital Trust, has presented to all 6th form pupils in Worcestershire and has been awarded a BEM in the New Year honours. A more visible result of their work is the memorial to all donor families in the car park at Worcester Royal Hospital.
