Jenny, Anne, Sass, Sarah & I all took to the water as we tried our hand at Dragon Boats. The weather was kind to us and under very good supervision, we all had a paddle down the River Avon - quite a sight with these impressive boats. Hard work though and for some of us, our thumbs took a bit of bashing!
Eckington WI meeting in April was an interesting talk with Sheila Oxspring, a practising homeopath. She talked about the origins of modern homeopathy, how it works and how it is used. A good talk on alternative medicine and well received by our members. After a refreshing cup of tea, business continued with updates on our upcoming Garage Sale and notices from County on upcoming events. We have an active month in April with members joining in the County Dragon Boat Taster Day and the Worcs Wildlife Trust Day, as well as our usual Coffee Morning in Pershore and lunch, this month at The Jockey Inn!
The County Quiz Night last night. Cynthia, Sarah, Nadine & Barbara flexed their little grey cells and scored a credible 59/80; the winning score was 68 (I think!) so we were not too far away. Biggest groan of the night was when they told us the answer to the question: Z X C V ..... what comes next?
